VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE WORLD METEOROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION (WMO)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation has received Vacancy Notice No. 1962 for the post of Chief Human Resources Division from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) for qualified individuals to apply. 

The deadline for application is 14th June, 2016. The Ministry encourages qualified Tanzanians to apply.

Waziri Mahiga ahitimisha Mkutano kuhusu Utawala wa Sheria

Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki, Mhe. Balozi Dkt. Augustine Mahiga (Mb.), akitoa hotuba wakati wa kufunga rasmi Mkutano wa Kimataifa kuhusu masuala ya Utawala wa Sheria uliofanyika Jijini Dar es Salaam tarehe 1 na 2 Juni, 2016 na kuwahusisha Mawaziri kutoka nchi za Afrika. Katika hotuba yake Mhe. Mahiga alisisitiza kuwa Tanzania itaendelea kupambana na rushwa ambaye ni adui mkubwa wa haki na usawa ili kuimarisha utawala wa sheria

Mhe. Kairuki afungua Mkutano kuhusu Utawala wa Sheria

Waziri wa Nchi, Ofisi ya Rais, Mhe. Angella Kairuki (Mb), akitoa hotuba wakati wa ufunguzi rasmi wa Mkutano wa ngazi ya Mawaziri wa nchi za Afrika kuhusu Utawala wa Sheria ulioandaliwa kwa ushirikiano kati ya Taasisi ya Sheria ya Kimataifa  (IDLO) na Serikali ya Tanzania na kufanyika Jijini Dar es Salaam tarehe 01 na 02 Juni 2016.  Kushoto ni Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Taasisi hiyo Bi. Irene Khan. Waziri Kairuki alikuwa Mgeni Rasmi katika  Mkutano huo unaojadili nafasi ya Sheria katika kufikia Agenda ya Maendeleo Endelevu ya mwaka 2030 na Agenda ya AU ya mwaka 2063

Mhe.  Kairuki (Mb), wa pili kutoka kulia akiwa pamoja na Rais Mstaafu wa awamu ya nne, Mhe. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete wa kwanza kulia, Rais Mstaafu wa awamu ya tatu, Mhe. Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki, Mhe. Dkt, Augustine Mahiga (Mb), akimpokea Mjumbe Maalumu wa Rais wa Angola, ambaye pia ni Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje wa nchi hiyo, Mhe. Manuel Domingos Augusto leo ofisini kwake jijini Dar es Salaam.
Waziri Mahiga akisalimiana na Balozi wa Angola nchini Tanzania, Mhe.Ambrosio Lukoki.
 Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki, Mhe. Dkt, Augustine Mahiga (Mb), akiangalia bahasha iliyofungwa ujumbe maalumu kutoka kwa Rais wa Angola Mhe. Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, baada ya kukabidhiwa na Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje wa nchi hiyo, Mhe. Manuel Domingos Augusto
 Waziri Mahiga akisisitiza jambo katika mazungumzo hayo ambayo yalijikita zaidi kwenye masuala mbalimbali kuhusu Jumuiya ya Nchi za Maziwa Makuu.
Sehemu ya Ujumbe wa Angola ulioambatana na Mhe. Manuel Domingos Augusto, kulia ni Balozi wa Angola nchini Tanzania Mhe.Ambrosio Lukoki.

Balozi Dora Msechu akutana na wafanyabiashara wa Sweden kuhamasisha biashara na uwekezaji.

Balozi wa Tanzania nchini Sweden, Mhe. Dora Msechu amefanya mkutano na wafanyabiashara wa Sweden ulioandaliwa na Baraza la Biashara la Sweden na Afrika Mashariki(SWEACC). 
 Mhe.Balozi Dora Msechu amewahamasisha Wafanyabiashara wa Sweden kuwekeza nchini Tanzania kwa kuwaeleza kwa kina fursa zilizopo pamoja na juhudi mahsusi zinazofanywa na Serikali ya Tanzania kuboresha mazingira ya biashara na uwekezaji na kukuza uchumi wa nchi ikiwa ni pamoja na mikakati kabambe ya kuimarisha sekta ya viwanda na kuboresha miundombinu.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation has received vacancy announcement from the Southern Africa Development Community Secretariat (SADC) inviting qualified Tanzanians to apply for the post of Secretary to the SADC Administrative Tribunal (SADCAT) to its Tribunal. Interested Tanzanians are required to present their application letters to the Permanent Secretary President's Office-Public Services Management before 17 June 2016.

The Southern Africa Development Community Secretariat (SADC) is seeking to recruit highly motivated and experienced professionals who are citizens of Member States of the SADC to fill the position of Secretary to the SADC Administrative Tribunal (SADCAT) to its Tribunal.
Position: Secretary to the SADC Administrative Tribunal (SADCAT) - Job Grade 2
Reporting to the President of SADCAT the incumbent will have the following specific duties and responsibilities:
i. Maintain and manage the work of the SADCAT;
ii. Analyze cases and appeals brought before the SADCAT and prov   ide written technical advice where requested by the President for their consideration at proceedings before the SADCAT;
iii. Provide assistance and guidance to the SADCAT on procedural issues;
iv. Function as custodian of all legal records and documentation pertaining to the work of the SADCAT;
v. Publish annual Reports containing summarized information on the number and nature of cases heard before the SADCAT;
vi. Transmit dossiers and other documentation to Judges relating to cases referred to them;
vii. Receive applications instituting proceedings submitted to the SADCAT and related documentation of the case;
viii. Receive responses to applications and transmit them to Staff members;
ix. Ensure all applications are properly filed in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of SADCAT;
x. Make all notifications required in connection with cases before the SADCAT;
xi. Prepare a dossier for each case recording all actions taken in connection with the case; the dates thereof, and the dates on which any document or notification forming part of the procedure are received in or dispatched from the Secretary's office;
xii. Prepare documents recording the outcome of the SADCAT’s proceedings. Attend hearings and meetings of SADCAT as may be instructed by the President;
xiii. Prepare and keep the minutes of these hearings and meetings as may be instructed by the President;
xiv. Perform the functions entrusted to the Secretary by the Rules; and
xv. Carry out any other tasks assigned by the President.
Position Requirements
Qualifications
The incumbent should be a national of SADC and have a Masters Degree in Law or equivalent qualification with specialization in Administrative Law.
Experience
The incumbent must have at least a minimum of 10 years litigation experience in the public, sector or in private practice and experience in Administrative law and mediation skills.
Other relevant skills required
General knowledge of law, in-depth knowledge of international law and constitutional law; Legal analytical skills; Problem solving skills; Negotiation skills; Legislative drafting skills; Research, policy analysis and development; Organizational skills; Communication and networking; Advocacy and management; Computer literacy; Management experience and excellent interpersonal skills and ability to organize and motivate others and to work in a multi-cultural environment;
Language requirement
Proficiency in one of the SADC official working languages (English, Portuguese, French). Knowledge of other more than one official working languages would be an added advantage.
Age requirement
Candidates must preferably be between 30 and 50 years old.
Tenure of appointment
The appointment will be made on a fixed term contract for a period of four (4) years, renewable once for an equal period subject to satisfactory performance.
