H.E President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of the United Republic of Tanzania has sent a congratulatory message to H.E Barack Obama on the occasion of 238 years of Independence on 26th June 2014.

On behalf of the Government and People of the United Republic of Tanzania and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to convey my sincere congratulations to you and through you to the Government and People of the United States of America on the occasion of your country’s Independence Day.
The celebration of your country’s Independence day offers us yet another opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to continue working closely together in enhancing the existing bilateral ties between our two countries.
I am confident that the bonds of friendship, co-operation and partnership that our two countries enjoy will continue to grow in greater heights for the mutual benefit of our two countries and peoples.
