The Visiting British Royal Highness, Prince Charles has hailed the implementation of the Tanzania's Community based Management of fisheries resources in Rufiji, Mafia and Kilwa seascape project saying if sustained would have lots of impact to conservation initiatives.
Speaking at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Dar es salaam, the Royal Highness said he was impressed by the manner at which the project was being implemented by applying greater wisdom of the local communities.
He said the world needs to learn from the initiative demonstrated by the Tanzanian villagers.
"Paying attention at the local wisdom and local input in the conservation is good thing to any sustainable project" the Royal Highness noted.
He also noted that there was a need to build a global network aimed at streamlining the coastal conservation activities in a move to ensure sustainable agriculture and fishery activities.
The Prince of Wales also called for the global alliance in ensuring that poor countries like Tanzania were assisted to mitigate with the risk of the climate change.
The Royal Highness had the opportunity to give an award to the three districts of Kilwa, Rufiji and Mafia for the good use of donor funded projects, the World Wildlife Fund. The Prince of Wales is the President of the WWF in United Kingdom.

The Royal Highness is in the Country with Duchess of Cornwall for the three day official tour. Tomorrow the Royal Highness are scheduled to visit Zanzibar and later on Arusha.
