Tanzania has sent a congratulatory message to His
Excellency Joko Widodo, president
elect of the Republic of Indonesia.
The
message reads as follows;

It is with great pleasure that I take
this opportunity to convey to you, on behalf of the Government and people’s of
the United Republic of Tanzania, and indeed on my own behalf warm greetings and
congratulations upon your election as the President of the Republic of Indonesia following the general election held
on 9th July 214.

PRESS
STATEMEMNT
In a Press Conference held on 14th
July, 2014, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation,
Hon. Bernard Membe, on behalf of the Government of the United Republic of
Tanzania called on Israel and Hamas to ceasefire immediately, adding that The
United Nations Security Council should step in to restore harmony in the Middle
East.
The Government of the United Republic
of Tanzania wishes to reiterate this position and further condemns the ongoing
killings of innocent civilians among them elderly, women and children in Gaza.
The Government of the United Republic
of Tanzania calls upon the International Community to continue supporting
diplomatic efforts to end the conflict peacefully. Core to the solution of this conflict is
availing the people of Palestine the right to self-determination through the
establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The Government of the United Republic
of Tanzania therefore maintains its support to the two-state solution with
Palestine and Israel co-existing in harmony and ensuring security of the State
of Israel.

of Tanzania has sent a condolence message to Rt. Hon. Dato' Sri Mohammad NajibTun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia following the loss
of lives due to the crash of a Malaysian airliner on Thursday 17th
July 2014. The message reads as follows:

Hon Dato' Sri Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak,
The Prime Minister of Malaysia,
Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia
I
have learnt with great shock and sorrow the sad news of the loss of so many lives
due to the crash of a Malaysian airliner on its way from Amsterdam to Kuala
Lumpur that occurred on Ukrainian territory on Thursday 17th July 2014.
The crash is an immense tragedy not only
for the loved ones of those who perished but also for all the people of Malaysia
and their friends. As a country, our thoughts and prayers are with the people
of Malaysia in this time of grief.
On
behalf of the Government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania, and
indeed on my own behalf, I offer you our sincere condolences, support and
solidarity.
