FOR ADMISSION INTO CERTIFICATE (NTA LEVEL 4), ORDINARY DIPLOMA (NTA LEVEL 5
& 6), DEGREE (NTA LEVEL 7 & 8) AND POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES FOR THE
ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015
A: IMPORTANT
INFORMATION FOR ALL APPLICANTS
i)
THE
CENTRE HAS INTRODUCED A BACHELORS DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND
DIPLOMACY (BDIRD) BEGINNING IN THE 2014/15 ACADEMIC YEAR.
ii)
Applicants aspiring to pursue Bachelors
Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy should lodge their applications
through the Central Admission System (CAS) under TCU and NACTE.
iii)
Applicants for Certificate, Ordinary Diploma
and Postgraduate Diploma programmes should lodge their applications directly to
the Centre not later than 29th August 2014.
B: PROGRAMMES
OFFERED AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A BASIC CERTIFICATE
IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY (NTA LEVEL 4)
Regular and Evening Sessions
This is a
one year programme aimed at equipping students to apply basic knowledge and
skills in the field of International Relations and Diplomacy at work places. The
graduands normally work under close supervision of qualified professionals in
public, private and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs).
Entry
Qualifications:
All
applicants of the Certificate programme must have an Ordinary Certificate of
Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least FOUR passes, OR equivalent qualifications.
2. AN ORDINARY DIPLOMA
IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY (NTA LEVEL 5 AND 6)
Regular and Evening Sessions
This is a two-year programme aimed at
enabling students to apply knowledge and skills in International Relations and
Diplomacy at work places. The graduands are trained to work independently under
the supervision of qualified professionals in public, private and
Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs).

Qualifications:
i)
Direct
Entry
A candidate
must have an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE),
with ONE principal pass and TWO subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting and
Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) with credit passes in THREE subjects.
ii) Equivalent Entry Scheme
A candidate
must have a certificate from any institution recognized by NACTE with at least a
second class or an average of B and above.
3. A BACHELORS
DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY (BDIRD)
Regular and Evening Sessions
This is a three-year programme aimed at producing
qualified and competent graduands to work in the field of International
Relations and Diplomacy. The graduands are trained to work independently under
the supervision of qualified professionals in public, private and
Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs).

A
candidate must have an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
(CSEE), with two principal passes excluding religious subjects and Certificate
of Secondary Education (CSEE) with credit passes in THREE subjects.
ii) Equivalent Entry Scheme
A
candidate must possess an Ordinary Diploma in International Relations and
Diplomacy or related field from any institution recognized by NACTE with at
least a second class or an average of B and above.
4.
POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES: Evening Session Only
i)
POSTGRADUATE
DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT OF FOREIGN RELATIONS
This is a one year programme aimed at
enabling students to acquire higher professional knowledge and skills in
International Relations and Diplomacy and apply them in work places. The graduands
can handle complex and newly emerging problems related to the course in the
community.
ii)
POSTGRADUATE
DIPLOMA IN ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY
This is a one year programme which aims at
enabling graduates to acquire higher professional knowledge and skills in
Economic Diplomacy and apply them in work places. The graduands can handle
complex and newly emerging problems related to the course in the community.
Minimum Qualifications:

A good First Degree or its Equivalent, OR
·
A good Advanced Diploma from recognized
institutions.
·
Masters Degree holders are also encouraged
to apply.
C:
APPLICATION PROCEDURES
·
Non-refundable application fee of Tshs. 30,000/=.
·
Payments should be made through the Centre
for Foreign Relations - A/C No. 20101100061 - NMB Bank.
·
Photocopies of certificates and testimonials
should be attached.
·
The deadline for applicants for Certificate,
Ordinary Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma is Friday 29th August,
2014.
·
Academic Year 2014/2015 commences on 29th
September, 2014.
