SADCAS Job Vacancies Announcement.








The Southern African Development Community Accreditation Service (SADCAS), a multi economy Accreditation body based in Botswana was established to offer accreditation services throughout the SADC region in those Member States that do not have a national accreditation body namely: Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The following TWO posts tenable in Gaborone are currently on offer:

(1) Program Coordinator for Calibration Laboratories Accreditation Scheme (ISO/IEC 17025) and Inspection Bodies Accreditation Scheme (ISO/IEC 17020)


Main Purpose of the Job
To provide support to the Technical Manager to ensure co-ordination of the Calibration Laboratories and Inspection Bodies Accreditation Schemes are undertaken efficiently in order to achieve the organization strategic targets

Key Responsibilities
· Manage all applications received under the Calibration Laboratories and Inspection Bodies Accreditation Schemes;
· Check technical details and perform document reviews for
new applications;
· Manage assessment teams;
· Confirm all logistics pertaining to assessments that have been arranged by the Administrator timeously i.e. accommodation,
assessment packs, travel logistics, etc;
· Conduct minimum assessments as required by the schemes
· Confirm technical correctness of accreditation schedules
agreed during assessments;
· Contribute to assessment and financial planning with the
Technical Manager;
· Assist in mentoring/monitoring of assessors and trainees
assessors;
· Manage the generation and maintenance of appropriate
documents for assigned areas of responsibility;
· Contribute in the implementation and realization of the
schemes, objectives and deadlines;
· Interact with various stakeholders and provide good client

·
 
services; and
Maintain personal development plan.
           
Qualification and Experience
· Diploma/ Degree in Physics/Mathematics/ Engineering
· Understanding of accreditation requirements and systems
based on ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17020.
· A minimum of 5 years technical experience with at least 2
years at managerial level.

Required Skills and Competencies · Target driven;

· Attention to detail;
· Ability to work in a team;
· Good organizational and time management skills;
· Excellent writing and verbal skills;
· Computer literate with specific experience in Microsoft Office; and
· Candidates with high proficiency in two of the SADC official
languages (English/Portuguese/French) encouraged to apply.

(2) Quality Manager

Main Purpose of the Job

To manage the SADCAS Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure that it complies with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17011 and of AFRAC, SADCA, ILAC and IAF in order to achieve and main-tain the international recognition of SADCAS.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage Internal Audit process as per SADCAS procedure;
· Manage Management Reviews meetings as per SADCAS procedure;
· Manage the preparation, approval, control, review and publication of QMS documents (procedures, forms, and standard letters) as per the SADCAS procedure;
· Ensure that relevant personnel are trained on ISO/IEC 17011
and SADCAS QMS documents;
· Coordinate the SADCAS Customer feedback system including
complaints as per the SADCAS procedure;
· Ensure that the external customer satisfaction survey is conducted on an ongoing basis;
· Manage and coordinate all activities related to SADCAS Peer
Evaluation’
· Maintain updated records of all personnel involved in SADCAS
assessments/decisions on accreditations; and
· Compile reports on complaints, customer satisfaction feedback,
trends in internal audit/peer evaluation findings etc.

Qualification and Experience
· A degree in a technical discipline;
· Understanding of accreditation bodies requirements and systems based on ISO/IEC 17011;
· Qualified and registered Lead/Technical Assessor;
· A minimum of 5 years technical experience with at least 2 years
at managerial level; and
· Peer evaluator training will be an added advantage;

Tanzania na Korea zakubaliana kuimarisha uhusiano wa kiuchumi na kibiashara

TAARIFA KWA VYOMBO VYA HABARI

Tanzania imeiomba Jamhuri ya Korea iendelee kushirikiana na Serikali katika utekelezaji wa miradi mbalimbali ya maendeleo ambayo Serikali ya awamu ya tano imeifanya kuwa ya kipaumbele katika kufikia azma ya uchumi wa viwanda.

Kauli hiyo ilitolewa leo Ikulu jijini Dar Es Salaam na Waziri Mkuu wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, Mhe. Kassim Majaliwa (Mb) mbele ya waandishi wa habari akiwa na mgeni wake, Waziri Mkuu wa Jamhuri ya Korea, Mhe. Lee Nak-yon.

Miradi ambayo Mhe. Waziri Mkuu aliitaja ni pamoja na ujenzi wa Daraja la Kigongo-Busisi mkoani Mwanza lenye urefu wa mita 3200, barabara ya Chaya mkoani Tabora yenye urefu wa kilomita 42 na ujenzi wa barabara ya juu ya bahari kutoka ufukwe wa Coco, Osterbay hadi Aga Khan, Upanga jijini Dar Es Salaam yenye urefu wa kilomita zaidi ya sita. Miradi mingine ni ujenzi wa hospitali tano za rufaa katika kanda mbalimbali nchini na ujenzi wa reli ya kisasa ya kiwango cha kimataifa utakaotekelezwa kwa awamu tano ambapo awamu ya kwanza na ya pili kutoka Dar Es Salaam - Morogoro hadi Dodoma umeshaanza kwa kutumia Fedha za ndani.

Mhe. Majaliwa kabla ya kuzungumza na wana habari alikuwa na mazungumzo rasmi na mwenyeji wake na baadaye viongozi hao walishuhudia uwekaji saini wa Mkataba wa kuondoa hitaji la viza kwa wenye hati za kusafiria za kidiplomasia na utumishi baina ya Tanzania na Korea.

Mkataba huo kwa upande wa Tanzania ulisainiwa na Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki, Balozi Augustine Mahiga na kwa upande wa Korea, Makamu wa Kwanza wa Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje, Mhe. Lim Sung- Nam aliweka saini kwa niaba ya Serikali yake.

Katika ziara hiyo, Mhe. Lee pamoja na mambo mengine alitembelea Kituo cha Kutunzia kumbukumbu cha Mamlaka ya Vitambulisho vya Taifa ambacho ujenzi wake ulitokana na mkopo wa masharti nafuu wa benki ya Exim ya Korea. Aidha, alitembelea hospitali ya Mnazi mmoja na kutoa msaada wa gari mbili za kubebea wagonjwa.

Wakati wa mazungumzo rasmi na mwenyeji wake, Mhe. Majaliwa alitumia fursa hiyo kuwakarabisha wafanyabiashara wa Korea kuja kuwekeza nchini katika sekta mbalimbali ikiwemo utalii.

Kuhusu utalii, Waziri Mkuu Majaliwa alieleza kuwa Korea imekubali kutangaza vivutio vya utalii vilivyopo nchini ili kuhamasisha watalii wengi kutoka nchi hiyo kuvitembelea na kubainisha kuwa michoro ya tingatinga ambayo asili yake ni Tanzania inapendwa sana nchini humo.

Katika ziara hiyo, Mhe. Lee amefuatana na wafanyabiashara wakubwa ambao watafanya mkutano na wafanyabiashara wa Tanzania siku ya Jumatatu tarehe 23 Julai 2018 unaolenga kuangalia namna watakavyoweza kushirikiana katika uwekezaji kwenye sekta mbalimbali hapa nchini.

Mhe. Majaliwa alieleza kuwa Serikali ya Tanzania inasifu na kuunga mkono jitihada zinazofanywa kati ya Korea Kusini na Korea Kaskazini za kumaliza tofauti zao kupitia mazungumzo ya amani.

Alihitimisha kwa kuwahakikishia wananchi kuwa Korea inaridhishwa na jitihada zinazofanywa na Serikali ya awamu ya tano za kuinua uchumi wa Tanzania na kwamba nchi hiyo itaendelea kuunga mkono jitihada hizo. Aidha, Korea inasifu uwepo wa amani nchini na kuwasihi Watanzania waendelee kuitunza kwa kuwa ndio msingi wa maendeleo duniani.

Lim Sung- Nam wakiweka saini Mkataba wa kuondoa hitaji la viza kwa wenye hati za kusafiria za kidiplomasia na utumishi wanaposafiri baina ya nchi hizo mbili.
