The Southern African Development Community Accreditation Service (SADCAS), a multi economy Accreditation body based in Botswana was established to offer accreditation services throughout the SADC region in those Member States that do not have a
national accreditation body namely: Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic
of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia
and Zimbabwe.
(1) Program Coordinator for Calibration Laboratories Accreditation Scheme (ISO/IEC 17025) and Inspection Bodies Accreditation Scheme (ISO/IEC 17020)
Main Purpose
of the Job
To provide support to the Technical Manager to ensure co-ordination of the Calibration Laboratories and Inspection Bodies Accreditation Schemes are undertaken efficiently
in order to achieve the organization strategic targets
Key
Responsibilities
· Manage all
applications received under the Calibration
Laboratories
and Inspection Bodies
Accreditation Schemes;
· Check technical details and perform document reviews
for
new applications;
· Manage assessment teams;
· Confirm all
logistics pertaining to
assessments that have
been arranged by the
Administrator
timeously i.e. accommodation,
assessment packs,
travel logistics, etc;
· Conduct
minimum assessments
as required by the schemes;
· Confirm technical
correctness of accreditation schedules
agreed during assessments;
· Contribute to assessment
and
financial planning with
the
Technical
Manager;
· Assist in
mentoring/monitoring
of assessors
and trainees
assessors;
· Manage the generation
and
maintenance of appropriate
documents for
assigned areas of responsibility;
· Contribute in the implementation and realization
of the
schemes,
objectives and deadlines;
· Interact with various stakeholders
and
provide good
client
|
Maintain personal development plan.
Qualification and Experience
· Diploma/ Degree in Physics/Mathematics/ Engineering
· Understanding of accreditation requirements and systems
based on
ISO/IEC
17025 and ISO/IEC 17020.
· A minimum of 5 years technical experience with at least 2
years at managerial level.

(2) Quality Manager
Main Purpose
of the Job
To manage the SADCAS Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure that it complies
with the requirements
of ISO/IEC 17011 and of AFRAC, SADCA, ILAC and IAF in order to achieve and main-tain the international
recognition of SADCAS.
Key
Responsibilities
· Manage Internal Audit process as per SADCAS
procedure;
· Manage Management Reviews
meetings
as per
SADCAS procedure;
· Manage the preparation, approval, control, review and publication of QMS documents
(procedures, forms,
and standard letters)
as per the SADCAS procedure;
· Ensure that
relevant
personnel are trained
on ISO/IEC 17011
and SADCAS QMS documents;
· Coordinate
the
SADCAS Customer feedback
system including
complaints
as per
the
SADCAS procedure;
· Ensure that
the external customer satisfaction
survey is conducted on an
ongoing basis;
· Manage and coordinate
all activities related to
SADCAS Peer
Evaluation’
· Maintain updated records of all
personnel involved in SADCAS
assessments/decisions on accreditations; and
· Compile
reports on
complaints,
customer
satisfaction feedback,
trends in internal
audit/peer evaluation findings
etc.
Qualification and Experience
· A degree in
a technical discipline;
· Understanding of accreditation
bodies requirements and
systems based on
ISO/IEC 17011;
· Qualified and registered Lead/Technical
Assessor;
· A
minimum of 5 years technical
experience
with at least 2 years
at
managerial level; and
· Peer
evaluator training will
be an added advantage;
