Ministry of Foreign Affairs bids farewell to the UNDP's Dr. Kacou


Hon. Bernard K. Membe (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation points out the Mount Kilimanjaro on a gift given to the outgoing Resident Representative for the United Nations Development Programme and Resident Coordinator of the UN System in Tanzania, Dr. Alberic Kacou yesterday at the Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam.  The Minister hosted the farewell dinner for Dr. Kacou, who had just completed his tenure of four years.    

Minister Membe gives his remarks, praising Dr. Kacou for his superb work during his four-year tenure.

Distinguished in attendance included Ambassador Vincent Kibwana (right), Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Simba Yahya (2nd right), Director of Middle East in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Filberto Cerian Sebregondi (3rd right), Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Tanzania.  Also in the photo here are Ambassador Juma Alfani Mpango (2nd left), Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Tanzania and Ambassador Celestine Mushy (3rd left), Director of the Multilateral Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.   Other distinguished guests were Heads of the UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes and other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Mushy hands a gift to Dr. Kacou on behalf of all officers from the Department of Multilateral Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation. 

Ambassador Mushy reads the card which is signed by all officers from his Department of Multilateral Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  The Department had worked closely with Dr. Kacou throughout his four-year tenure while in the country.

Rais wa Comoro atembelea Zanzibar



 Rais wa Zanzibar na Mwenyekiti wa Baraza la Mapinduzi Dk.Ali Mohamed Shein akisalimiana na Rais wa Comoro Ikililou Dhoinine,alipofika Ikulu ya Migombani Mjini Unguja jana ,Rais  wa Comoro alifika nchini kushiriki katika sherehe za Miaka 50 ya Mapinduzi Zanzibar ambazo kilele chake kitafanyika katika Uwanja wa Amaan.

New Ambassador of Comoro presents Letters of Credence


H.E. Ahamed El Badaoui Mohamed Fakih, new Ambassador of Comoro to the United Republic of Tanzania presents Letters of Credence to H.E. President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete earlier today at the State House, in Dar es Salaam.

Tanzania Ambassador presents Letters of Credence in Israel


H.E. Mohamed Hamza (right), Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to Israel with residence in Egypt, presents his Letters of Credence to H.E. Shimon Peres, the President of the State of Israel.  The ceremony took place on the 2nd of January, 2014 at the Presidential Palace in Jerusalem.

US Chargé d'Affaires pays visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs


Hon. Dr. Mahadhi Juma Maalim, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation greets Ms. Virginia Blaser, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the United States of America to the United Republic of Tanzania.  Ms. Blaser had paid a courtesy visit in his office today to discuss areas of cooperation between the two countries. 

Also in attendance during the meeting were Mr. Adam Issara (2nd right), Private Assistant to the Deputy Minister and Ms. Elizabeth Rwitunga, Foreign Service Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

During their discussion, Ms. Blaser also expressed her Government sadness for the passing of the Finance Minister Dr. William Mgimwa, while sending condolences to the Widow and Family of the Late Mgimwa.
