Mahadhi Juma Maalim (MP), Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation in a brief discussion with the outgoing Ambassador of Italy Pierluigi Velardi, yesterday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam. Ambassador Velardi has been an Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Tanzania since November 2010.

Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Mahadhi Juma Maalim (MP) continues with his speech in which he highlighted key areas of cooperation between Tanzania and Italy since 1970 in sectors of health, education, private sector development, trade and investment as well as counter piracy initiatives.

H.E. Pierluigi Velardi, the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to the United Republic of Tanzania thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its unending support and vowed to continue cooperation as needed. Ambassador Pierluigi Velardi has been proactive in attracting Italian investors to Tanzania which resulted in the visits of 22 companies from Italy in 2012.
