Condolence Message to the Kingdom of the Netherlands




H.E Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania has sent a condolence message to the Kingdom of The Netherlands following the untimely death of His Royal Highness Johan Friso Bernhard Christiaan David, Prince of Oranje-Nassau.  The message reads as follows:

‘‘His Majesty Willem-Alexander,
  King of the Netherlands,
  Prince of Orange-Nassau,
  The Hague,
  The Netherlands.

Your Majesty,

            I have received with profound sadness the sad news of the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Johan Friso Bernhard Christiaan David, Prince of Oranje-Nassau. On behalf of the Government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania, and on my own behalf, I wish to convey deepest and heartfelt condolences to Your Majesty and to the people of the Kingdom of The Netherlands for the untimely death of your brother.

            During these difficult times our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved Royal family for the great loss. May the Almighty God rest the soul of the late Prince Johan Friso Bernhard Christiaan David in eternal peace.

            Please accept Your Majesty, my deepest sympathy and renewed assurances of highest consideration”.

New Netherlands Ambassador presents Letters of Credence to President Kikwete


Designate Ambassador Jacob Rijkert Theodoor Frederiks of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United Republic of Tanzania signs a visitors book at the State House today, prior to his presentation of the Letters of Credence to President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.

President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania awaits the newly Designate Ambassador Jacob Rijkert Theodoor Frederiks of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United Republic of Tanzania today at the State House, in Dar es Salaam.  Also in the photo are Hon. H.E. President Kikwete in a discussion with H.E. Ambassador Frederiks of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United Republic of Tanzania.  During their discussion, President Kikwete highlighted areas of cooperation between the two countries in various sectors that include horticulture in Mbeya and Iringa regions, promotion of dairy industry, oil and gas. 

President Kikwete continues with his discussion with Ambassador Frederiks, while Mr. Dirk Jan-Brouwer, First Secretary (Economic Affairs) of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Tanzania listening on.

Hon. Membe receives Copies of Credentials from newly Designate Ambassador of the Netherlands


Hon. Bernard K. Membe (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation earlier today received Copies of Credentials from the newly designate Ambassador Jacob Rijkert Theodoor Frederiks of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United Republic of Tanzania.  The ceremony took place in the Minister's office in Dar es Salaam. 

Designate Ambassador Jacob Frederiks of the Kingdom of Netherlands exchange his views with Hon. Minister Membe during their meeting earlier today. 

Designate Ambassador Jacob Frederiks expresses his country's readiness to continue a further balanced and productive relations with Tanzania in areas of education, oil and gas, and horticulture. 

On his part, Hon. Membe hailed the long standing bilateral relations exist between the two countries, and highlighted the new re-establishment of diplomatic ties with the opening of the Embassy of Tanzania in the Netherlands, whereby Designate Ambassador Wilson Masilingi will take charge.
