Tanzania/Japan meet for their Annual Consultation meeting on Economic Cooperation

The Tanzania/Japan annual consultation meeting on economic cooperation is in session.  The two countries have been cooperating in various sectors that include water and sanitation, agriculture, roads projects, education and energy sectors as part and parcel of incorporating and implementing the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on Africa Development (TICAD V) declarations held a month ago in Yokohama City, Japan.  It is in that spirit that these projects are entwined with the Tanzania Development Vision of 2025, as continued efforts to revitalize the economic growth of the country.

Tandari (4th left), Deputy Executive Secretary  - International Trade and Economic Relations in the President's Office Planning Commission.

The US President Delivers Remarks at Independence Day Celebration

President Kikwete congratulates US President Obama on the occasion of the National Day

H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania has sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Barack Obama, President of the United States of America on the occasion of the National Day of the United States of America.

The message reads as follows;

“H.E. Barack Obama

President of the United States of America

Washington D.C.

Your Excellency,

On behalf of the Government and People of the United Republic of Tanzania and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to convey my sincere congratulations to you and through you to the Government and People of the United States of America on the occasion of your country’s 237^thIndependence Day.

This year’s celebration of your independence day comes just after you have concluded ahistoric visit to Tanzania. We were touched by your presence amongst us, the memories of which we shall ever cherish.

I am confident that our two countries will continue to pursue our shared values and aspirations for the mutual benefit of our peoples.

I wish in this regard to reaffirm my commitment and desire to further strengthen our cordial and fraternal ties of friendship and cooperation.

Please accept, Your Excellency, my best wishes for Your continued good health, peace and prosperity for the people of the United States of America”.

Air Force One gets ready to take off. 

H.E. President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of the United Republic of Tanzania hugs and congratulates the US Ambassador Alfonso Lenhardt of the United States of America to the United Republic of Tanzania for his continued strong commitment in working close with the Tanzania Government in seeing all US projects are keenly delivered to locals and people living in rural areas.  The US has several projects in the country, that includes health care initiatives, food security measures, preventive measures for Malaria and HIV/AIDs pandemics and technical assistance. 

President Kikwete and Ambassador Lenhardt share a candid moment, while witnessing their wives shares a hug. 

President Kikwete, First Lady Mama Salma Kikwete and their two beloved sons took time to reminisce on the US President Barack Obama's historical visit in the country.  President Obama has expressed strong commitment in initiating programs that will build skills and be beneficial to the future of young people. 

Hon. Minister Bernard K. Membe (MP) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also took time to congratulate H.E. Ambassador Alfonso Lenhardt of the Unites States of America to the United Republic of Tanzania for his impeccable solidarity in assisting the Tanzania Government in its is socio-economic endeavors.

Hon. Minister Membe took time to do a TBC Live interview to thank the dedicated Tanzanians for their jovial mood, patience and solidarity that they have shown to the the US President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and their two daughters in the past two days during their official visit.  He said that their tranquility and normalcy had made it easier for the US First Couple to enjoy their stay in Tanzania.
