Invitation for admission into various programmes at the Centre for Foreign Relation for Academec year 2014/2015

INVITATION FOR ADMISSION INTO CERTIFICATE (NTA LEVEL 4), ORDINARY DIPLOMA (NTA LEVEL 5 & 6), DEGREE (NTA LEVEL 7 & 8) AND POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015

A: IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL APPLICANTS

i)            THE CENTRE HAS INTRODUCED A BACHELORS DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY (BDIRD) BEGINNING IN THE 2014/15 ACADEMIC YEAR.

ii)            Applicants aspiring to pursue Bachelors Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy should lodge their applications through the Central Admission System (CAS) under TCU and NACTE.

iii)           Applicants for Certificate, Ordinary Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma programmes should lodge their applications directly to the Centre not later than 29th August 2014.

B: PROGRAMMES OFFERED AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A BASIC CERTIFICATE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY (NTA LEVEL 4)

            Regular and Evening Sessions
This is a one year programme aimed at equipping students to apply basic knowledge and skills in the field of International Relations and Diplomacy at work places. The graduands normally work under close supervision of qualified professionals in public, private and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs).

          Entry Qualifications:
All applicants of the Certificate programme must have an Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least FOUR passes, OR equivalent qualifications.

2. AN ORDINARY DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY (NTA LEVEL 5 AND 6)

Regular and Evening Sessions
This is a two-year programme aimed at enabling students to apply knowledge and skills in International Relations and Diplomacy at work places. The graduands are trained to work independently under the supervision of qualified professionals in public, private and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs).

          Entry Qualifications:

i)            Direct Entry
A candidate must have an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE), with ONE principal pass and TWO subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting and Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) with credit passes in THREE subjects.

          ii)        Equivalent Entry Scheme
A candidate must have a certificate from any institution recognized by NACTE with at least a second class or an average of B and above. 

3. A BACHELORS DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY (BDIRD)

Regular and Evening Sessions
This is a three-year programme aimed at producing qualified and competent graduands to work in the field of International Relations and Diplomacy. The graduands are trained to work independently under the supervision of qualified professionals in public, private and Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs).

          Entry Qualifications:

ii)           Direct Entry
A candidate must have an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE), with two principal passes excluding religious subjects and Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) with credit passes in THREE subjects.

          ii)        Equivalent Entry Scheme
A candidate must possess an Ordinary Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy or related field from any institution recognized by NACTE with at least a second class or an average of B and above. 

4. POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES: Evening Session Only

i)        POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT OF FOREIGN RELATIONS
This is a one year programme aimed at enabling students to acquire higher professional knowledge and skills in International Relations and Diplomacy and apply them in work places. The graduands can handle complex and newly emerging problems related to the course in the community. 


ii)       POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY
This is a one year programme which aims at enabling graduates to acquire higher professional knowledge and skills in Economic Diplomacy and apply them in work places. The graduands can handle complex and newly emerging problems related to the course in the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

·         A good First Degree or its Equivalent, OR
·         A good Advanced Diploma from recognized institutions.
·         Masters Degree holders are also encouraged to apply.

C: APPLICATION PROCEDURES

·         Non-refundable application fee of Tshs. 30,000/=.
·         Payments should be made through the Centre for Foreign Relations - A/C No. 20101100061 - NMB Bank.
·         Photocopies of certificates and testimonials should be attached.
·         The deadline for applicants for Certificate, Ordinary Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma is Friday 29th August, 2014.
·         Academic Year 2014/2015 commences on 29th September, 2014.

Mkurugenzi wa Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa azungumza na Mwakilishi wa UNFPA nchini

H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China


PRESS RELEASE

H.E. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania has sent a condolence message to H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China following a 6.5 magnitude earthquake that hit the South West China’s Yunnan Province on Sunday 3rd August, 2014 claiming at least 398 lives. 

The message reads as follows:

“H.E. Xi Jinping,
President of the People’s Republic of China,
BEIJING,
PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA.

I have learnt with profound shock and deep sorrow the sad news of a 6.5 magnitude earthquake that hit the South West China’s Yunnan Province this Sunday afternoon 3rd August, 2014 claiming at least 398 lives, leaving nearly 2000 injured and homeless as well as causing severe destruction of properties and infrastructure.

On behalf of the Government and the People’s of the United Republic of Tanzania, and indeed on my own behalf, I would like to convey my deepest condolences and sympathy to you and through you to the Government and the people of the People’s Republic of China and particularly to the bereaved families.

The Government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania join with the families of the deceased, the victims and the people of the People’s Republic of China in this period of pain and agony. We also pray to the Almighty God to rest the souls of the departed in eternal peace while granting quick recovery to the injured.

Please accept, Your Excellency the assurances of my highest consideration”.

Balozi Mdogo wa Tanzania Dubai Mhe. Omar Mjenga akiwa katikati na uongozi wa Dragon Mart ya Dubai, ambao wameonyesha nia kwa kushirikiana na Wizara ya Viwanda na Biashara, kujenga uwanja wa maonyesho ya biashara wa kisasa utakao kuwa unafanya maonyesho mfululizo kwa mwaka mzima.

Niao yao pamoja na Wizara, ni kujenga kituo cha ubora (Centre of Excellency) kwa ukanda wa Afrika Mashariki na Kusini mwa Afrika.

TAARIFA KWA VYOMBO VYA HABARI

SERIKALI HAIJAWATELEKEZA WATANZANIA WANAOSOMA UKRAINE

Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa inapenda kukanusha vikali taarifa iliyotangazwa na Shirika la Utangazaji la Uingereza (BBC), tarehe 30 Julai, 2014, iliyodaikuwa Serikali ya Tanzania imetelekeza wananchi wake wanaosoma Ukraine Mashariki, ambako kunarindima vita ya wenyewe kwa wenyewe.

Taarifa hiyo ya upande mmoja, iliyomnukuu mtu anayeitwa Shamila, aliyedai ni mmoja wa wanafunzi Watanzania nchini Ukraine, ilisema eti wananchi hao wameachwa bila msaada wowote.

Wizara imesikitishwa na taarifa hiyo iliyotolewa bila kufanyiwa uchunguzi wa kutosha. Ukweli ni kwamba Ubalozi wa Tanzania nchini Urusi, ambao unatuwakilisha pia Ukraine, umechukua hatua za haraka tangu mwezi Juni, 2014, kuhakikisha wanafunzi Watanzania wote wanaondoka katika jimbo la Lugansk lililoko vitani.

Ubalozi ulishirikiana na Rais wa wanafunzi wa Tanzania katika mji wa Lugansk, Bwana Ahmad Juma, kufanikisha kuondoka kwa Watanzania wote 32 waliokuwepo huko kurudi nyumbani au kuhamia mji wa Kharkov, ambao ni salama zaidi.

Serikali kupitia Ubalozi wake Moscow iliwaombea wanafunzi hao malazi kwenye Chuo cha Kharkov Technical University ambacho kilikubali kutoa hosteli kwa wanafunzi hao. Hata hivyo, wengi wa wanafunzi hao waliondokea Lugansk kurudi nyumbani isipokuwa wanafunzi saba ambao walihamia Kharkov. Mpaka tarehe 31 Julai, 2014, ni wanafunzi watatu tu waliokuwa wamebaki mjini Kharkov. Wanafunzi 20 wamedhaminiwa na Serikali ya Mapinduzi ya Zanzibar kupitia Bodi ya Mikopo.

Orodha ya wanafunzi iliyopo Ubalozini haijumuishi jina la Shamila anayedaiwa kuhojiwa na BBC. Inasemeka na mtu huyo alikwishamaliza masomo yake ya shahada ya kwanza na ya pili lakini akaamua kubakia Ukraine akifanya udalali wa kuleta wanafunzi kutoka Tanzania kwa kushirikiana na vijana wa Nigeria.

Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa inapenda kuuhakikishia Umma kuwa inasimamia kikamilifu usalama na ustawi wa Watanzania walioko Ukraine na popote ulimwenguni, na inasikitishwa na taarifa ya uzushi, upotoshaji na uzandiki iliyomnukuu mtu anayeitwa Shamila.

Serikali ya Comoro ya kabidhi Eneo kwa Ubalozi Tanzania nchini humo

Balozi wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania nchini Commoro, Mhe. Chabaka F. Kilumanga (katikati) akionyesha funguo aliyokabidhiwa na Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje wa Muungano wa Visiwa vya Comoro, Mhe El-Anrif Said Hassane (ikiwa) ni ishara ya kukabidhiwa eneo lililotolewa na Serikali ya Comoro kwa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania kwaajili ya Ujenzi wa Ubalozi wa Tanzania mijini Moroni

Hafla ya makabidhiano hayo yamefanyika Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje ya Comoro ambapo Mhe. Waziri El-Anrif amemkabidhi Balozi wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania Mhe. Chabaka F. Kilumanga funguo zamajengo matatu yaliyopo katika eneo hilo. Tukio hilo limeshuhudiwa pia na Mhe Ahamada El-Badaoui Mohamed Fakih, Balozi wa  Comoro nchini Tanzania.

Sambamba na kukabidhiana eneo hilo, Mhe. Balozi Kilumanga na Mhe. Waziri El-Anrif walipata fursa ya kuzungumzia masuala mbalimbali yanayohusu namna ya kuimarisha ushirikiano kati ya Tanzania na Comoro kwa maslahi ya pande zote mbili.

 WATANZANIA WANAOISHI VISIWANI COMORO WAANDAA FUTARI YA PAMOJA KWA KUSHIRIKIANA NA UBALOZI

Jamii ya Watanzania wanaoishi Visiwani Comoro wameandaa futari ya pamoja, kwa kushirikiana na Ubalozi wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania Mjini Moroni. Lengo la futari hiyo lilikuwa ni kuwakutanisha Watanzania wanaoishi Comoro, hususan katika kipindi hiki cha Mwezi Mtukufu wa Ramadhani ili wajumuike pamoja. 

Wakizunguza wakati wa hafla hiyo, Watanzania hao walielezea kufurahishwa na kufarijika kwao kutokana na kitendo cha Serikali ya Tanzania kufungua Ubalozi nchini Comoro. Walieleza pia utayari wao wa kushirikiana na Ubalozi ili kuhamasisha maendeleo yao na ya nchi kwa ujumla.

Akizungumza katika halfa hiyo kwa niaba ya Mhe. Balozi Chabaka Kilumanga, Bw. Ali Mwadini wa Ubalozi wa Tanzania Moroni, aliwashukuru Watanzania hao kwa kupata wazo zuri la kuandaa futari na kuushirikisha Ubalozi.

Aidha, aliwasihi waendelee na umoja huo kwa kusaidiana na kuwa raia wema kwa kutii sheria za nchi wanapoishi. Aliwakumbusha pia kufika Ubalozini na kujisajili kwa wale ambao bado walikuwa hawajafanya hivyo. Vile vile, aliwahimiza kushiriki katika Kongamano la Watanzania Wanaoishi Ughaibuni linalotarajiwa kufanyika Jijini Dar es Salaam tarehe 14 na 15 Agosti 2014.

PRESS STATEMENT

PRESS STATEMEMNT

In a Press Conference held on 14th July, 2014, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Hon. Bernard Membe, on behalf of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania called on Israel and Hamas to ceasefire immediately, adding that The United Nations Security Council should step in to restore harmony in the Middle East.

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania wishes to reiterate this position and further condemns the ongoing killings of innocent civilians among them elderly, women and children in Gaza.

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania calls upon the International Community to continue supporting diplomatic efforts to end the conflict peacefully.  Core to the solution of this conflict is availing the people of Palestine the right to self-determination through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania therefore maintains its support to the two-state solution with Palestine and Israel co-existing in harmony and ensuring security of the State of Israel.
