Background

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is a regional economic community founded and maintained by countries in Southern Africa. It aims to further the socio-economic, political and security cooperation among its Member States and foster regional integration in order to achieve peace, stability and wealth. SADC currently has fifteen Member States[1] with a population of approximately 327 million people and a combined GDP of USD 600 billion (2016). 

The Secretariat is currently recruiting for various positions to enhance its capacity to deliver on the above mandate. Remuneration

The SADC Secretariat offers a competitive package for all the positions as outlined below.

Job Grade                 Average Package per Annum:

Job Grade 4              US$ 81, 650
Job Grade 6              US$ 72, 527
Job Grade 5              US$ 77, 090

Tenure of appointment
All appointments for the above positions will be on a fixed term contract for a period of four (4) years, renewable once for an equal period subject to satisfactory performance, retirement age limit of 60 years and the continued need for the position.

Eligibility

The positions are open to qualified applicants who:

·      Are 50 years old or younger.  This requirement is based on the Organization’s need to recruit staff who can serve for a reasonable period of time before reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.

·      Are from the following eligible Member States: Angola, DRC, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe

Closing Date and Submission of Applications: Applications must be submitted to the SADC National Contact Point https://www.sadc.int/opportunities/employment/national-contact-points/ of the  eligible Member States not later than or on 17th July, 2019.

a)       a cover letter stating the position that you want to be considered for and describe how your qualifications, experience and competencies are relevant to the position;
b)               five (5) page updated curriculum vitae;
c)                certified copies of your degree(s), Diploma(s) and Certificate(s); and
d)               duly completed SADC Application Form.

Dkt. Mnyepe akutana na wadau wa maandalizi ya Mkutano wa SADC

Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki, Dkt, Faraji Kasidi Mnyepe amekutana na kufanya mazungumzo na wadau mablimbali ikiwa ni muendelezo wa maandalizi ya Mkutano wa 39 wa Jumuiya ya Maendeleo Kusini mwa Afrika (SADC) utakaofanyika nchini Mwezi Agosti 2019.

Balozi wa Tanzania nchini India, Mhe. Baraka Luvanda akimkaribisha Balozi Mteule wa India nchini Tanzania, Mhe. Sanjiv Kohli alipomtembelea katika Ofisi za Ubalozi zilizopo jijini New Delhi tarehe 2 Julai 2019 na kufanya mazungumzo kuhusu kuimarisha ushirikiano uliopo kati ya Tanzania na India kupitia wao kama wawakilishi wa nchi hizo.

Sekta Binafsi zaaswa kuchangamkie Fursa katika Mkutano wa SADC

Katibu Mkuu wa Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki, Dkt, Faraji Kasidi Mnyepe amekutana na kufanya mazungumzo na wawakilishi wa benki mbalimbali, wawakilishi wa kampuni za utalii, viongozi wa vyama vya wamiliki wa vyombo vya usafiri na wafanyabiashara mbalimbali jijini Dar Es Salaam. Katika Mkutano huo, Dkt. Mnyepe aliwasihi wawakilishi hao kujipanga vizuri ili waweze kuchangamkia fursa za Mkutano wa 39 wa Jumuiya ya Maendeleo Kusini mwa Afrika (SADC) utakaofanyika nchini Mwezi Agosti 2019. Aliwasihi kujipanga vizuri katika maeneo mbalimbali yakiwemo ya usafiri, utalii, burdani na vyakula. Dkt. Mnyepe alisisitiza umuhimu wa Watanzania kuendeleza utamaduni wa ukarimu na kuwa waaminifu na uadilifu katika kuhudumia ugeni huo mkubwa ambapo inakadiriwa zaidi ya watu elf moja watakuja nchini.

Prof. Kabudi Ahudhuria Mkutano wa waratibu wa jukwaa la ushirikiano kati ya China na Afrika (FOCAC)

Nchi za Kiafrika zimeiomba China kuhakikisha kuwa ufadhili ama mikopo inayotoa kwa Nchi za Kiafrika inalenga katika miradi ya kikanda itakayoziunganisha na kuzinufaisha nchi hizo kiuchumi huku Tanzania ikiitaka China kuhakikisha kuwa miradi ya maendeleo inayowekeza nchini iwe ya manufaa kwa pande zote mbili.

Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki ,Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi (Mb) ameyasema hayo Beijing Nchini China katika mkutano wa waratibu wa jukwaa la ushirikiano kati ya China na Afrika (FOCAC) alipopata fursa ya kuzungumza katika mkutano huo na kuongeza kuwa endapo China itazisaidia kwa ufadhili ama kwa mikopo nafuu kuwekeza katika miradi hasa ya miundombinu itakayoziunganisha Nchi za kiafrika kwa kiasi kikubwa itazisaidia Nchi hizo kufanya biashara zenyewe kwa zenyewe  itaziwezesha kupiga hatua za kimaendeleo na kiuchumi na hivyo kujitegemea.

Ameongeza kuwa Mkutano huo wa waratibu wa jukwaa la ushirikiano kati ya China na Afrika (FOCAC) umekuwa ni wa manufaa kwa kuwa Nchi zenyewe za kiafrika zimepata fursa ya kutaja baadhi ya miradi ya kipaumbele kutokana na uhitaji wa Nchi husika  huku akiitaja miradi hiyo kuwa ni pamoja na uzalishaji wa umeme kwa kutumia maji kwa kuwa Nchi nyingi za Kiafrika bado zina vyanzo vingi vya maji vinavyoweza kuzalisha umeme ambao utakuwa ni wa bei nafuu na kusaidia katika ujenzi wa viwanda.

Aidha, katika mkutano huo wa siku mbili uliozikutanisha Nchi zipatazo 53 za Kiafrika na China zimeitaka China pia kuhakikisha inasaidia ama kufadhili katika kuinua uwezo wa kitaaluma utakaowawezesha vijana kwa Kiafrika kujiajiri na kupata wataalam wabobezi katika masuala mbalimbali kutokana na uwekezaji hasa wa viwanda na miundombinu utakaofanywa kwa pamoja na China na Nchi za Kiafrika.

Akizungumza mara baada ya kumalizika kwa mkutano huo Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Afrika Mashariki Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi (Mb) amesema katika mkutano huo wa waratibu wa jukwaa la ushirikiano kati ya China na Afrika (FOCAC) Tanzania imesisitiza kuwa katika miradi ya uwekezaji ya misaada ama ile ya mikopo nafuu inayoelekezwa Tanzania iwe ni ile yenye manufaa kwa pande zote mbili yaani win-win situation kama anavyosisitiza Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, Mhe. Dkt. John Pombe Magufuli.

Akisoma hotuba kwa niaba ya Rais wa China Mhe. Xi Jimping, Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje wa China Mhe. Wang Yi amesema kuwa China haitatoa misaada yenye masharti magumu kwa Nchi za Afrika, badala yake itaendeleza ushirikiano wake na Afrika katika kutekeleza miradi ya maendeleo yenye manufaa kwa pande zote mbili.

Katika hotuba hiyo, Serikali ya China imeahidi kuongeza umoja na ushirikiano kati yake na Afrika katika masuala ya kikanda na kimataifa ikiwa ni pamoja na kudumisha amani na usalama  ili kuleta maendeleo endelevu kwa watu na kuifanya dunia kuwa mahali salama pa kuishi.

Mkutano huo wa waratibu wa jukwaa la ushirikiano kati ya China na Afrika limeazimia kwa pamoja kutekeleza miradi ya kipaumbele kulingana na uhitaji wa kila nchi kwa kufuata hatua nane zilizotangazwa katika mkutano wa wakuu wa nchi wa FOCAC uliofanyika mwezi September 2018 jijini Beijing.

Hatua hizo ni pamoja na program ya kuendeleza viwanda kupitia ujenzi wa maeneo maalum ya viwanda, ujenzi wa miundombinu ikiwemo nishati, reli, barabara na bandari, sambamba na ujenzi wa vyuo vya ufundi stadi vitakavyosaidia kuzalisha nguvu kazi ya viwandani.

Dkt. Migiro apokea vifaa vya mafunzo ya utabibu vyenye thamani ya Tsh. milioni 130

Ubalozi wa Tanzania nchini Uingereza ulipokea kifaa muhimu cha kufundishia madaktari, wauguzi na wataalamu wengine wa sekta ya afya, pamoja na vitabu vya kitabibu kutoka katika Jumuiya ya Watanzania waishio Uingereza wanaofanya kazi katika sekta ya afya (Tanzania United Kingdom Health Diaspora Association - TUHEDA). Makabidhiano hayo yalifanyika jijini London tarehe 22 Juni 2019. 

Kifaa hicho ni sanamu ya binadamu ambayo inaendeshwa na programu maalumu za kompyuta zinazowezesha wataalamu mbalimbali wa afya kupata uhalisia wa hali ya magonjwa kama ambavyo wangeupata kutoka kwa mgonjwa aliye hai. 

Sanamu hiyo iliyopewa jina la ‘Msafiri’ na Ubalozi, ina uwezo wa kupumua, kutoa sauti ya mapafu kama mtu mwenye pumu, homa ya mapafu, au mapigo ya moyo yanayoweza kuashiria shinikizo la juu au la chini la damu, sawa na mgonjwa halisi. Upatikanaji wa sanamu hiyo umefanikishwa na mwanachama wa TUHEDA, Dkt. Nasibu Mwande, mtaalamu wa masuala ya ajali na magonjwa ya dharura (Accidents and Emergency), anayefanya kazi ya udaktari hapa Uingereza. 

‘Msafiri’ ana thamani ya pauni za Uingereza zisizopungua 30,000 (sawa na shilingi za Tanzania zipatazo milioni mia moja), ana umbo la kawaida la binadamu na uzito wa kilo 60. Ubalozi umetaarifiwa kuwa sanamu hiyo ni ya kwanza nchini Tanzania katika ufundishaji wa kitabibu.

Kupatikana kwa ‘Msafiri’ kutasaidia sana kupunguza makosa ya kibinadamu yanayoweza kufanywa na madaktari, wauguzi na wataalamu wengine kwani ‘Msafiri’ anaweza kutumika kutoa mafunzo ya kitabibu kwa mfano halisi wa magonjwa mbalimbali bila ya madhara ambayo yangetokea kama wataalamu wa utabibu wangetegemea kujifunza kupitia mgonjwa aliye hai. 

TUHEDA pia wamekabidhi vitabu muhimu mia tatu vinavyotumika kama rejea kwa madaktari wakati wa kuamua mgonjwa apewe dawa gani, dawa zipi zinaweza kutumika kwa pamoja bila madhara, na zitolewe kwa kiwango gani. Vitabu hivyo vina thamani inayokaribia pauni 9,000 sawa na shilingi za Tanzania zipatazo milioni 30.

TANZANIA YANG’ARA KATIKA MAONESHO YA UTALII SEOUL, KOREA

Ubalozi wa Tanzania Seoul, kwa kushirikiana na wadau wa Utalii kutoka sekta binafsi wameshiriki katika maonyesho makubwa ya Kimataifa ya “Seoul International Tourism Industry Fair” yaliyofanyika jijini Seoul, Jamhuri ya Korea kuanzia tarehe 6 hadi 9 Juni 2019. Maonesho hayo yaliandaliwa na Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA) kwa kushirikiana na Seoul International Travel Mart (Seoul Metropolitan City) ambapo wadau (kampuni za utalii, usafirishaji, wamiliki wa hoteli, migahawa, vyombo vya habari) kutoka nchi mbalimbali za Asia, Ulaya, Amerika, Afrika na Mashariki ya Kati walishiriki.

Kampuni za Utalii kutoka Tanzania zilizoshiriki maonesho hayo ni Eastenders, Zara Tours, Travel Booking Guide kwa kupitia Mwakilishi wake aliye Korea, Ms. Han Bitnarae, na SAFANTA Tours & Travel ya Zanzibar.

Kupitia maonesho hayo, Tanzania iliweza kutangaza vivutio vya utalii kwa jamii ya Wakorea na mataifa mengine kwa ujumla. Aidha, kampuni zilizoshiriki ziliweza kupata wenzao wa kushirikiana nao kibiashara kupitia B2B na kuingia makubaliano ya kibiashara.

Balozi wa Tanzania Korea Kusini, Mhe. Matilda Swilla Masuka akiwa katika picha ya pamoja na washiriki wa Tanzania katika maonesho hayo, pamoja na wageni waliotembelea banda la Tanzania.

Mwakilishi wa kampuni ya Zara Tours, Bi Leila Ansell akiongea na wateja kuhusu huduma mbalimbali zitolewazo na kampuni hiyo ambayo imeingia mkataba pia na kampuni ya kikorea ya Hyecho Trekking ambayo hupeleka watu kupanda mlima Kilimanjaro. Mazungumzo pia bado yanaendelea na makampuni mengine.
