Deputy High Commissioner of New Zealand visits the Ministry


Ambassador Mbelwa Kairuki, Director of the Department of Asia and Australasia in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation welcomes Ms. Georgina Roberts, Deputy High Commissioner of New Zealand based in Pretoria, South Africa who also covers Tanzania, during their meeting today in Dar es Salaam.

Ambassador Mbelwa Kairuki expresses the Government's readiness to foster relations with New Zealand, forging partnership that would create more training and scholarship opportunities, and the need to explore further energy and agriculture sectors. 

Ms. Georgina Roberts also took time to thank Ambassador Mbelwa Kairuki for taking time to meet, and that her Government was eager to continue working close with Tanzania and explore new areas of cooperation that in turn can generate more experts in areas of technology, energy and agriculture. 

Also in attendance were Mr. Mkumbwa Ally (left), Acting Head of Government Communication Unit in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Khatibu Makenga, Foreign Service Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

Ambassador Kairuki highlights other key areas to explore that may include opening of Honorary Consul in Tanzania to facilitate matters of cooperation easily given that the High Commission is physically located in Pretoria, South Africa.
