Deputy Minister Presents Work Certificates to India, Oman Consuls

Deputy Minister Presents Work Certificates to India, Oman Consuls

The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Mahadhi Juma Maalim today presented work certificates (Exequatur) to the Indian Consul General in Zanzibar, Mr Satendar Kumar and the Consul General of Oman, Mr Ali Abdullah Sulaiman Al Rashid, in separate ceremonies at the ministry headquarters in Dar es Salaam.

Mr. Kumar informed the Deputy Minister that his government was financing construction of a vocational training centre in Zanzibar while preparations were underway for implementation of other development projects.
Dr Mahadhi commended India for the assistance, saying Tanzania and the Asian country had very strong relations.

The Oman Consul General told Dr Mahadhi that his country was preparing an international donor conference to marshal financial resources for the development of Zanzibar to be held this year. The Deputy Minister said Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda was made aware of the plan during his recent visit to the Sultanate of Oman and that the union government fully supported the idea.

Dr Mahadhi said Zanzibar and Oman had deep-rooted historical ties. "The history of Zanzibar is not complete without Oman and the history of Oman is not complete without Zanzibar," he explained.

François Hollande

President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has sent the condolence message to H.E. François Hollande, President of the Republic of France following a shooting attack at the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris which occurred on 7th January, 2015.

The message reads as follows:

‘‘H.E. François Hollande,
President of the Republic of France,
Paris,
FRANCE

Your Excellency,

I have received with great sadness and dismay the devastating news of the tragic attack at the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris which has claimed the lives of 12 people and injured several others. On behalf of the Government and the People of the United Republic of Tanzania and on my own behalf, I wish to convey to you our heartfelt condolences and through you to the bereaved families who have been robbed of their loved ones by this heinous act.

France and Tanzania enjoy good relations through which we have worked hand in hand to tackle the most pressing security challenges of our time. To this end, I condemn this senseless attack which aimed at bringing fear and insecurity among the French people and the world at large. We are convinced that under your able leadership, the Government of France will leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

       While wishing all the victims fortitude in this difficult time, please accept, Your Excellency, renewed assurances of my highest consideration.

MEMBE APONGEZA ANGLIKANA KUPINGA USHOGA

Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa Mhe. Bernard Kamillius Membe akizindua sherehe ya miaka 50 ya Kanisa la Anglikana Dayosisi ya Dar es salaam, katika Kanisa Kuu la Mtakatifu Albano, jijini Dar es salaam jana Jumapili, Januari 4, 2015, akishuhudiwa na  Dk. Valentine Mokiwa, Askofu wa Dayosisi ya Dar es Salaam.

MEMBE APONGEZA ANGLIKANA KUPINGA USHOGA

Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa, Mhe. Bernard Membe, amelipongeza Kanisa la Anglikana Tanzania kwa kusimama kidete kupinga ndoa za jinsia moja, hata pale makanisa mengine ya Anglikana duniani yalipounga mkono suala hilo.
Akizindua sherehe za Miaka Hamsini tangu kuanzishwa kwa Dayosisi ya Dar es Salaam ya Kanisa hilo jana, Mhe. Membe alisema msimamo huo wa Kanisa na Watanzania uliipa serikali nguvu kukataa shinikizom kutoka nchi za Magharibi kwamba iidhinishe ushoga hapa nchini.
"Mlinitia nguvu sana pale niliposimama kidete kuwaambia rafiki zetu wa nje kuwa katika hilo la ndoa za jinsia moja, Tanzania tunaomba tukubaliane kutokukubaliana," alisema Mhe. Waziri, wakati wa uzinduzi huo uliofanyikia kwenye kanisa la Mtakatifu Albano, jijini Dar es Salaam. Sherehe za Miaka 50 ya Dayosisi ya Dar es Salaam zitafikia kilele Julai, mwaka huu.
Mhe. Membe alisema serikali itaendelea kushirikiana na Kanisa la Anglikana na madhehebu mengine ya dini kuboresha maisha ya Watanzania. "Naomba muendelee kushirikiana na serikali katika kutoa huduma kwa wananchi," aliwaambia waumini na waalikwa wengine waliohudhuria misa maalum ya uzinduzi iliyoongozwa na Askofu Valentine Mokiwa.
Aliwataka viongozi wa dini kuombea nchi umoja na  amani, na kuhimiza waumini wao kushiriki kikamilifu katika matukio mawili muhimu yanayolikabili taifa mwaka huu -- Kura ya maoni ya Katiba inayopendekezwa na Uchaguzi Mkuu wa Rais na Wabunge.
Uchaguzi wa Rais ni muhimu kwa sababu "Rais wa Awamu ya Tano atategemewa kuendeleza mema ya Awamu ya Nne na awamu zilizopita, na kutoa majawabu kwa changamoto za sasa na zijazo na kutusogeza karibu zaidi na Tanzania njema tunayoitamani, Tanzania yenye neema tele. Hatuko mbali na nchi yetu hiyo ya ahadi," alisema.

Mhe. Membe alishambulia rushwa na ifisadi kuwa ndivyo vinavyodidimiza nchi na kuongeza umasikini kwa wananchi licha ya Tanzania kuwa na rasilimali lukuki. "Tuchague viongozi waadilifu, wazalendo, wachapa kazi, wasio na uchu wa madaraka kwa ajili ya kujinufaisha wao binafsi na marafiki zao," alisema.
Alitaka vijana waandaliwe vyema kushiriki ujenzi na ulinzi wa taifa kwani ndio warithi. "Tukiwaandaa vyema,mustakabali wa taifa letu na watu wake utakuwa kwenye mikono salama. Tukishindwa leo, tutalia na kusaga meno kesho," alionya.

Hon. Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak.  Malaysian Prime Minister

President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has sent a condolence message to the Prime Minister of Malaysia,  Honourable Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, following the worst flooding in more than a decade in Northeastern Malaysia that claimed at least 7 lives and forced nearly 160,000 people from their homes on 27th December, 2014. 


The message reads as follows:

“The Honourable Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak,  
Prime Minister of Federal Government of Malaysia,
Putrajaya, MALAYSIA.

Honourable Prime Minister,

I have learnt with deep sorrow the worst flooding in Northeastern Malaysia in more than a decade which occurred on the 27th December, 2014 leading to the loss of lives of at least 7 people and forced nearly 160,000 from their homes.

On behalf of the Government and People of the United Republic of Tanzania, and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to convey to you, Honourable Prime Minister, and through you, to the Government and People of Malaysia, especially the families of the bereaved, our heartfelt condolence and deep sympathies.

At this moment of intense grief, the People of Tanzania wishes the victims of this calamity a full and speedy recovery amid the worst deluge in living memory of many Malaysians. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Malaysian people during this very difficult time of bereavement.

Please accept, Honourable Prime Minister, the assurances of my highest consideration.
