Mhe. Rais Kikwete apokea Hati za Utambulisho za Balozi wa Cuba hapa nchini

Mhe. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete (kushoto), Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania akipokea Hati za Utambulisho kutoka kwa Mhe. Jorge Luis Lopez Tormo, Balozi mpya wa Jamhuri ya Cuba hapa nchini.Hafla hiyo ilifanyika Ikulu, Dar es Salaam jana.

Naibu Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa, Mhe. Mahadhi Juma Maalim (Mb.) (kushoto) akipokea Hati za Utambulisho kutoka kwa Bw. Jama Gulalid, Mwakilishi wa Shirika la Kimataifa la Kuhudumia Watoto (UNICEF) hapa nchini.

Tanzania addresses the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly



H.E. Ambassador Tuvako Manongi, Permanent Representative of the United Republic of Tanzania to the United Nations, yesterday addressed the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural), of the 67th Session of the General Assembly on Agenda item 27:  Social Development.

During his Statement, Ambassador Manongi emphasized the linkage between poverty and disability, including the need to incorporate people with disabilities in development agendas.

Coverage of the Main Committees of the General Assembly Meetings

 
 
          Chairman of the Fifth Committee for 67thsession of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Miguel Berger, Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of Germany gives his opening remarks, where he welcomes new elected members of Bureau that includes himself as Chairman, Mr. João Augusto Costa Vargas of Brazil, Ms. Anna Reich of Hungary and Mr. Bilal Taher Muhammad Wilson of Saudi Arabia as vice-chairpersons and Mr. Justin Kisoka of the United Republic of Tanzania as Rapporteur. He also thanked the previous Bureau which was under the Chairmanship of His Excellency, Mr. Michel Tommo Monthé of Cameroon. 

During the discussion, the Committee pointed out the need for careful examination of all important agenda items, such as human resources management, the scale of assessments, Umoja/Enterprise Resource Planning and the International Public Sector Accounting Standards, the United Nations common system, Programme Planning, Capital Master Plan and the reports of the Board of Auditors (BOA); Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) and the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS). Other items includes budget revised estimates such as financing the outcome on RIO+20, Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Human Right Council (HRC) and other main committee decisions.

Tanzania delegation is expected to be key players in number of the agenda items in this Session that include full involvement in the negotiation on programme planning, human resource management, UN Common system; oversight reports in particular the BOA, JIU and OIOS, UN pension system, scale of assessment, budgets for ICTR and International Residual Mechanism including construction project in Arusha in line with national priorities.

UN’s Committee Meetings officially kick off




UN’s Committee Meetings officially kick off

As the General Debate of the United Nations' 67th Session closed its Session last week (1 October, 2012), the Six Committees of the UN have commenced their meetings with Tanzania Delegation gearing for its full participation in all Committees.
The Six Committees are: First Committee (Disarmament and International Security), Second Committee (Economic and Financial), Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural), Fourth Committee (Special Political and Decolonization), Fifth Committee (Administrative and Budgetary) and the Sixth Committee (Legal and Administrative).

Ambassador Tuvako Manongi, Permanent Representative of the United Republic of Tanzania to the United Nations, is expected to address the Third Committee on 9 October, 2012 where he will highlight the Government's position in its continued implementation on various national strategies programmes such as poverty reduction (MKUKUTA for Mainland and MKUZA for Zanzibar).   

Furthermore, the Ambassador will also speak on the challenges of high maternal and child mortality rates, including unemployment-related issues.

On 10 October, 2012 Ambassador Manongi is expected to address the First Committee where Tanzania will make pledge for full cooperation and support to attain total and complete disarmament. Tanzania will also call upon other nuclear states and possessors to embark on the path of total and complete disarmament of such weapons, in guaranteeing peace, security and development.

Participants for the Committees will also include Deputy Ambassador Ramadhan Muombwa Mwinyi, Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Republic of Tanzania to the United Nations and Mr. Nyandallo M. Mboyi, Acting Director of the Department of Policy and Planning in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.  
Others include Foreign Service Officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation and the Tanzania Permanent Mission to the UN, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, President’s Office - Planning Commission, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs and others.
All meetings are held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA and are scheduled to last until December 2012.

Malawi rudini kwenye meza ya majadiliano:Membe


Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa, Mhe. Bernard K. Membe (Mb) amewambia Waandishi wa Habari kuwa Malawi haiwezi kuipeleka Tanzania katika Mahakama ya Kimataifa ya Haki (ICJ) ili iamue mgogoro wa mpaka kwenye Ziwa Nyasa unaozozaniwa baina ya nchi hizi mbili.

Mhe. Membe alibainisha hayo mbele ya Waandishi wa Habari jijini Dar es Slaam siku ya Jumamosi tarehe 06 Oktoba, 2012. “Tanzania ni mjumbe wa ICJ lakini bado haijatambua Mamlaka ya Mahakama hiyo, hivyo Malawi haiwezi kuipeleka Tanzania ICJ isipokuwa Tanzania inaweza kuipeleka Malawi”, alisema Mhe. Membe.

Mhe. Waziri aliitolea wito Malawi irudi katika meza ya majadiliano na kuiomba Serikali ya nchi hiyo kutuma wawakilishi katika kikao walichokubaliana kufanyika Dar es Salaam kuanzia tarehe 07 - 10 Oktoba, 2012. Kikao hicho kinakusudia kupendekeza msuluhishi ambaye atakubalika na pande zote baada ya kubainika kuwa Tanzania na Malawi zenyewe hazitaweza kusuluhisha mzozo huo.

Mhe. Waziri aliwafahamisha waandishi kuwa alipokea kwa mshtuko taarifa kwamba Malawi haitashiriki katika kikao kilichopangwa kufanyika Dar es Salaam kwa hoja kuwa lazima Serikali ya Tanzania itoe maelezo ya kina kuhusu boti ya kijeshi iliyoonekana kufanya doria kwenye Ziwa Nyasa ambayo inasemekana kuwaletea hofu kubwa wakazi wa maeneo ya Ziwa kwa upande wa Malawi. Aidha, Malawi inataka kupatiwa maelezo kuhusu toleo jipya la Ramani ya Tanzania lililotolewa na Mamlaka za Tanzania ambayo inaonyesha mpaka baina ya nchi hizo mbili umepita katikati ya Ziwa Nyasa.

Akitolea ufafanuzi masuala hayo, Mhe. Membe alisema kuwa toleo hilo jipya lilikuwa na lengo la kuionyesha Mikoa mipya minne na Wilaya mpya 19 katika ramani ya nchi, na kuonyesha mpaka kupita katikati ya Ziwa, hilo si jambo jipya kwani ndivyo ramani ya nchi yetu ilivyokuwa katika matoleo yote manne yaliyotolewa na Serikali kabla na baada ya uhuru.

Kuhusu boti ya kijeshi kufanya doria kwenye Ziwa Nyasa, Mhe. Waziri alisema taarifa hizo sio sahihi, ila kinachofanyika ni doria ya kawaida ambayo inaendeshwa na Wizara ya Maendeleo ya Mifugo na Uvuvi kuwasaka wavuvi haramu na wale wanaotumia zana za uvuvi zilizopigwa marufuku.

Mhe. Waziri aliwahakikishia wananchi kuwa Serikali ya Tanzania inapenda kuona mgogoro huo unamalizika katika kipindi cha Serikali ya Awamu ya Nne inayongozwa na Mhe. Rais Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete na kitendo cha Malawi kutishia kugomea majadiliano hakitarudisha nyuma dhamira ya Serikali.

Alisema Serikali imejipanga vyema kuhakikisha kuwa inakuwa na hoja za kisayansi na kisheria ili ishinde katika mgogoro huo. Moja ya mikakati ya Serikali imeunda Kamati tatu ambazo zimeshaanza kazi na kazi yao inaendelea vizuri. Kamati hizo moja inahusika na utafutaji wa nyaraka kuhusu Ziwa Nyasa, ya pili inahusika na masuala ya kisheria na ya tatu inahusika na masuala ya majadiliano.

Alidokeza kuwa katika kufuatilia kesi zilizohukumiwa na ICJ hakuna nchi iliyodai umiliki wa ziwa lote au mto uliopo mpakani baina ya nchi mbili ilishinda kesi. Hivyo, aliwataka Watanzania wasiwe na wasiwasi kwani Serikali yao itaibuka mshindi katika mgogoro huo.

Alihitimisha mazungumzo yake kwa kuwataka Wananchi wanaoishi kando ya Ziwa Nyasa kufanya shughuli zao kama kawaida pasi na kuhofia chochote kwani hakuna tishio la vita kabisa baina ya Tanzania na Malawi.

Mama Maria Nyerere, Balozi Mujuma wazuru kaburi la Hayati Mama Betty Kaunda



Mama Maria Nyerere akiweka maua kwenye kaburi la aliyekuwa Mke wa Rais wa Kwanza wa Zambia, Marehemu Mama Betty Kaunda. Mama Kaunda alizikwa tarehe 28 septemba 2012, mjini Lusaka, nchini Zambia.  Aidha, Mwili wa Marehemu Mama Kaunda ulizikwa kwenye shamba ambalo ni eneo alilozikwa Mmewe, Hayati Dkt. Kenneth David Kaunda.  Kushoto ni Mhe. Ziara ya Rais Kikwete nchini Canada


Mhe. Rais Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, akikagua gwaride rasmi katika Viwanja vya Jumba la Rideau Hall jijini Ottawa, Canada. 


Rais Kikwete akitambulisha ujumbe wa Tanzania, uliomjumuisha Mhe. Bernard K. Membe (MB) (pichani akisalimiana na Gavana Jenerali Johnson), Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa, katika Viwanja vya Jumba la Rideau Hall jijini Ottawa.  Jumba hilo pia ni makazi na ofisi rasmi ya Gavana Jenerali wa Canada tangu mwaka 1867, ambalo hutumika kuwatunukia wananchi wa Canada waliofanya vyema.  Aidha, Jumba hilo ni sehemu ya mapokezi ya wageni mashuhuri wa nchi za nje na pia ndipo mahala Gavana Jeneralia anapofanya shughuli zote kitaifa akiwa kama Mwakilishi wa Malkia wa Uingereza.


Rais Kikwete akisalimiana na Watanzania waliojitokeza kumpokea.


Mhe. Rais Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, akiwa katika mazungumzo na Mhe. David Johnson, Gavana Jenerali wa Canada.  Mhe. Rais Kikwete alikuwa nchini Canada kwenye ziara rasmi ya siku mbili, mjini Ottawa.


Rais Kikwete na ujumbe wake akiwemo Mhe. Bernard K. Membe (MB) (kulia kwa Rais), Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa, akiwa katika mazungumzo na Gavana Jenearli Johnson wa Canada. 


Rais Kikwete awasili Canada kwa ziara rasmi ya Kiserikali
Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, Mheshimiwa Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete amewasili mjini Ottawa, Canada, Jumatano mchana, Oktoba 3, 2012, kuanza ziara rasmi ya Kiserikali ya siku mbili katika nchi hiyo kwa mwaliko wa Gavana Jenerali Mheshimiwa David Johnston.
Rais Kikwete na ujumbe wake wamewasili kwenye Uwanja wa Kimataifa wa Ndege wa Macdonald-Cartier wa mji mkuu wa Canada wa Ottawa kiasi cha saa nane na dakika 55 mchana baada ya safari ya ndege ya saa moja kutoka mjini New York, Marekani, ambako amefanya ziara ya siku mbili pia.
Kwenye Uwanja wa Ndege wa Ottawa, Rais Kikwete amelakiwa na Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje wa Canada, Mheshimiwa John Baird, Balozi wa Tanzania katika Canada, Mheshimiwa Alex Masinda, Naibu Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje wa Canada, Mheshimiwa Deepak Obhrai, Balozi wa Canada katika Tanzania, Mheshimiwa Robert Orr na Mbunge Mheshimiwa Joe Daniel.
Miongoni mwa viongozi wengine walimpokea Rais kwenye Uwanja wa Ndege huo ni pamoja na Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje na Ushirikiano wa Kimataifa Mheshimiwa Bernard Membe na Waziri wa Nishati na Madini Mheshimiwa Sospter Muhongo ambao wametangulia kuja Canada lakini ni sehemu ya ujumbe wa Rais Kikwete kwenye ziara hiyo.
Kwenye Uwanja wa Ndege huo, Rais Kikwete pia ameweka saini kwenye kitabu cha kumkaribisha rasmi Canada.
Kutoka uwanja wa ndege, msafara wa Rais Kikwete umekwenda moja kwa moja hadi kwenye Nyumba ya Serikali, ambako Mheshimiwa Kikwete ametoka kwenye gari na kuingia kwenye gari maalum linalovutwa kwa farasi na kuelekea kwenye Viwanja vya Jumba la Rideau ambako amepokelewa rasmi, kwa mbwembwe zote za Ziara Rasmi ya Kiserikali.
Mara baada ya kuwasili kwenye Viwanja vya Jumba la Rideau, Rais amepokelewa na Gavana Jenerali Johnston na mkewe, Mama Sharon Johnston, amepewa heshima ya kupigiwa mizinga 21 na pia amekagua Gwaride la Heshima la Majeshi ya Ulinzi ya Canada.
Katika hotuba fupi kwenye sherehe hiyo ya mapokezi ambayo pia imehudhuriwa na Watanzania wanaoishi Canada, Rais Kikwete ameishukuru Canada kwa misaada mingi ya maendeleo ambayo imechangia sana katika jitihada za Tanzania kujiletea maendeleo tokea uhuru mwaka 1961.
Akizungumza wakati akimkaribisha Mheshimiwa Kikwete, Gavana Jenerali amemshukuru Rais Kikwete kwa kukubali kufanya ziara hiyo ambayo iliahirishwa mapema mwaka huu kutokana na ajali ya meli M.V. Skargit iliyozama kwenye pwani ya Zanzibar na kupoteza maisha ya watu.
Amesema Gavana Jenerali Johnston: “Nafurahi sana umeweza kupata muda wa kuja kututembelea Mheshimiwa Rais na ninayo heshima sana kukukaribisha kwenye Jumba la Rideau, nyumbani kwa wananchi wa Canada.”
Ameongeza: “Tumekuwa na uhusiano mzuri kwa miaka mingi na kwa hakika hizi ni nyakati za kusisimua na zenye changamoto nyingi kwa nchi zetu mbili ambazo zinaendelea kujenga jamii zenye uvumilivu na za kidemokrasia.”
Mara baada ya sherehe za mapokezi, Mheshimiwa Kikwete na mwenyeji wake wamefanya mazungumzo ya kiasi cha dakika 40 kuhusu uhusiano kati ya nchi hizo mbili na kuhusu masuala ya kimataifa.
Jumatano usiku, Oktoba 3, 2012 Gavana Jenerali Johnston ameandaa dhifa ya kitaifa kwa heshima ya Rais Kikwete kwenye Jumba la Rideau.
