H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania has sent a Congratulatory Message to H.E. Madame Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany following her re-election as Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany in the elections held on 22nd September 2013.

The message reads as follows:

“Your Excellency Angela Merkel,
Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany,
Berlin,
FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY

Dear Madame Chancellor,

I am delighted to learn of your re-election as Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany in the elections held in your country on 22nd September 2013.

In this connection, allow me on behalf of the Government and the People of the United Republic of Tanzania and indeed on my own behalf to congratulate you on the historic third-in-a-row victory.

These impressive election results signify not only the trust that Germany has placed in you and your party but also they indicate a clear-cut support to your efforts in bringing Germany and the entire Europe out of a deep and complicated economic crisis-which called for your personal strength and vision. I recall with deep respect that in the midst of global challenges, Germany under your stewardship has contributed to provide the engine of growth and stability for Europe.

In spite of the global economic crisis, Germany has remained a true partner in progress for Tanzania and its assistance continues to respond to the critical needs of Tanzania’s development. I am confident that the Tanzania-Germany ties will increasingly be enriched and deepened as the two countries collaborate for the promotion of peace and prosperity for all mankind.

Please accept, Excellency, my personal best wishes for your continued good health and prosperity.

Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete
