Indonesia marks 67th years of Independence



Hon. Mahadhi Juma Maalim (MP), Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation congratulates H.E. Yudhistiranto Sungadi, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia on the occasion of the 67th Anniversary of the Independence of his country. 


Hon. Maalim greets Madam Sungadi, the wife of the Indonesian' Ambassador in Tanzania.  

   
H.E. Yudhistiranto Sungadi, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Tanzania gives his remarks during the reception he hosted in celebration of the 67th Anniversary of the Independence of Indonesia.  Right is Hon. Mahadhi Juma Maalim (MP), Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.  The two countries have strong bilateral relation in many areas of cooperation including exchanging visit of two national leaders (The Late Mwalimu Nyerere as President in 1978, Former President Ali Hassan Mwinyi in 1978, Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda in 2009 including H.E Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete while serving as Foreign Minister).  From Indonesia's part, President Suharto and Foreign Minister Ali Alatas visited Tanzania in 1991.


Hon. Maalim and Amb. Yudhistriranto chat with Ambassador Mbelwa Kairuki, Director of Department of Asia Australasia in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.  H.E. Ambassador Yudhistiranto Sungadi is expected to finish his tour of duty end of this month.  


Hon. Mahadhi Juma Maalim (MP), Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and international Co-operation, reads his opening remarks during the 67th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.  The two countries have had cooperation in sectors of agriculture, economy, trade, education and training under the South-South Cooperation scheme.  Indeed, Indonesia has provided training programs for agriculture, fisheries and information technology for the Tanzania government officials and academicians.
