H.E. David Johnston

PRESS RELEASE

H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania has sent a congratulatory message to His Excellency David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada on the occasion of the National Day of Canada.

The message reads as follows.

“Your Excellency David Johnston,

  The Governor General and

  Commander-in-Chief of Canada,

  Ottawa,

  CANADA.

        Your Excellency,

On behalf of the people and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to convey to you and through you to the Government and People of Canada, my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the National Day of Canada.

Canada and Tanzania have over the years enjoyed good bilateral relations. The celebration of your country’s National Day provides me with yet another opportunity to reiterate my personal commitment and that of my Government to working with You and Your Government much closer in strengthening further the long ties of friendship, co-operation and partnership that happily exist between our two countries and peoples for mutual benefit.

I wish you, Your Excellency, personal good health and prosperity for the people of Canada.
