President Kikwete welcomes China's President to the State House

Welcome to the State House, President Xi Jinping!

Hundreds of people gathered on the yards of the State House earlier today, anxiously waiting to welcome President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China during his two-day State Visit in Tanzania.

H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania together with his counterpart President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China wave to the crowd (not in the photo) upon President Xi's arrival in the State House this evening.  President Xi Jinping is in the country for a two-day State Visit, where he is scheduled to to officiate the formal hand over ceremony of the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC), which was built by the Chinese Government and thereafter he will participate in a lay of a wreath ceremony at the Chinese Experts Cemetery at Majohe Village in Ukonga, Dar es Salaam. Thereafter, President Xi Jinping is expected to travel to South Africa on Monday evening 25 March 2013, upon the end of his State Visit here in Tanzania.
