Tanzania, China sign Agreements; vow continued cooperation



The Governments of the United Republic of Tanzania and that of the People's Republic of China signed various Agreements, ushering more continued cooperation between the two governments.  

Below, are various photos capturing the signing ceremony that took place yesterday in the State House, Dar es Salaam. 


Hon. William Mgimwa (MP) (seating right), Minister for Finance in the United Republic of Tanzania signing the following documents:  the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the Governments of the People’s Republic of China and the United Republic of Tanzania;   Exchange of Letters for Chinese Government Provision of a TV Broadcast Truck to Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC); Framework Agreement between the Governments of the People’s Republic of China and the United Republic of Tanzania on Provision of Concessional Loan by China to Tanzania (National ICT Broad Infrastructure Project (Phase III Sub-Phase 1); Signing on behalf of the Chinese Government is the Minister of Commerce.  Other on the photo is Mr. Ali Ubwa (standing right), Foreign Service Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Legal Unit). 

Hon. Bernard K. Membe (MP) (seating right), Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation signs the Handing Over Certificate of the China-Aided Nyerere International Convention Center; Implementation Programme for the Years 2013 – 2016 under the Cultural Agreement between the Governments of People’s Republic of China and the United Republic of Tanzania.

Hon. Bernard K. Membe (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation signs the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Governments of the People’s Republic of China and the United Republic of Tanzania on the Establishment of China Cultural Centre in Tanzania. Signing on behalf of the People's Republic of China is their Foreign Minister. 

Hon. Eng. Christopher Chiza (MP) (right)Minister for Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives signs the Agreement on Phytosanitary Requirements for Tobacco Leaves from Tanzania to China between the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture Food and Cooperatives of the United Republic of Tanzania. Signing on behalf of the Chinese Government is Mr. Zhi Shuping, Director of AQSIQ.

Hon. Chiza, also signed Framework Agreement on the Project of Modern Agricultural industrialization Zone in the United Republic of Tanzania.  Signing on behalf of Chinese Government was Mr. ZHENG Zhihong, Chairman of the Board of Jiangsu Dahong Group.
 


Hon. Omar Yusuf Mzee (MP), Minister of State in the President’s Office, Responsible for Finance, Economic and Development Planning, Zanzibar signs the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.  

Hon. Mzee also signs the Exchange of Letters for China-Aided Abdullah Mzee Hospital Rehabilitation and Upgrading Project and the Exchange of Letters for Chinese Government Provision of a Set of Container Inspection Equipment to the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.  Signing on behalf of the Chinese Government is their Minister for Commerce.


Hon. William Mgimwa (MP), Minister for Finance signs the Agreement between the Governments of the People’s Republic of China and the United Republic of Tanzania Concerning the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments.  He also signs the  Agreement on Interest Free Loan from the Government of the People’s Republic of China to the  Government of the United Republic of Tanzania.  Signing on behalf of the People's Republic of China is their Minister for Commerce.

Hon. William Mgimwa (MP), Minister for Finance signs the Framework Agreement on the Strategic Partnership in Relation to the Development of Portside Industrial Zone and Seaport at the Bagamoyo Special Economic Zone in the United Republic of Tanzania.  Signing on behalf of the People's Republic of China is Dr. Fu Yuning, Chairman of the Board of Merchant Holdings.  Standing right is Mr. Ali Ubwa (Legal Unit) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Hon. Mgimwa also signed Loan Agreement between the Bank of Tanzania and China EXIM Bank concerning the National ICT Broad Infrastructure Project Phase III Sub-Phase 1.  Signing on behalf of the People's Republic of China was Mr. Sun Ping, Vice President of the EXIM Bank.


Hon. William Mgimwa (MP), Minister for Finance signs the Framework Agreement for the Infrastructure Development Cooperation (Phase I) between the Ministry of Finance of the United Republic of Tanzania and China Development Bank Corporation.  Signing on behalf of the People's Republic of China is Mr. Yuan Liping, Vice President of the China National Development Bank.  

Mr. Gideon Nasari, CEO of NDC signs the Funding Support Agreement for Development Project in Tanzania.  Signing on behalf of the Chinese Government is Mr. Jiang Jianqing, Chairman of the Board of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).  Standing right is Mr. Ali Ubwa, Foreign Service Officer (Legal Unit) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
